ACTUALLY GOOD! 2018 ESCAL Escalators - Clothing Store, Downtown - GO, BR

A pair of ESCAL escalators in a clothing store in downtown. This location opened in 2018 and features this pair of escalators and an elevator, also by Escal, but restricted to service only. This one is a nice example of a generic install that is indeed, very good, and even nice to ride.

For those who don't know, Escal is a larger brand that has some presence throughout the country, and despite the name, does also install elevators, not only escalators.
They use generic parts, and have local distributors in some regions (like MGEscal and OverEscal). Most of their escalators are in some way similar to Otis, there's even ones that are plain identical to their models.
Just try saying that a few times, Escal Escalator...

This model has no exact name, and seems to be a generic chinese "white label" design. As far as I know, Escal doesn't seem to manufacture their own escalators, just have them made by some other generic manufacturer and have their name written on. This design is very common to be seen from generics throughout the world, which is why I'm pretty sure it's a white label one. Even OTIS used to sell these escalators with their name over here, as a cheaper alternative to their own lineup.
Also similar to Otis, are those LED arrow indicators on the outer skirts, which are original to this installation, although their design is copied from the ones used in the Link model. It is widely used by generics over here, especially for adapting them into older models from other manufacturers that don't have indicators.
Traditionally with Escal, these have steps with the "dashed" lines, as they're known for using in all of their escalators. They are better to grip shoes. IMO this is better than the regular steps, I think the big brands should start using them too.

The conservation here is very good, they are still in mint condition. Save for the dirt that naturally accumulates on from the usage, they are very clean, as it obviously had to be for the kind of place that this is, this is a nice store after all.

These are running pretty good. Well, they're still only a few years old, but don't show any issues overall. Ride is very comfortable, they feel very smooth and stable, operate well and are really nice to ride, even better than some from the big brands. Build quality is decent, too, the materials only feel a little weak. Don't make a lot of noise either.
They have power saving mode enabled, but it was a little busy to show that in this video.
Now, let's see how they hold up over the next years, and still be worthy of the compliments I gave here... I hope so.

Rating: 9/10 - Really good quality for being a generic! Usually those are associated with being cheap and low-quality, but this one deserves the compliments... really good in both operation and looks. Not the most interesting escalators around, but feel nice to ride.
