Today is Waitangi Day in New Zealand, so I’ve got a double-upload for you guys! The first elevator video comes from the brand new Ramada Hotel at the centre of the city. This hotel opened around the middle of 2021, and the elevators are—rather disappointingly—some Schindler 3300’s. To be fair, they aren’t the worst I’ve seen, but even a 5500 would be fine — 3300 just seems too under-specked for such a nice-looking hotel. I guess the one redeeming feature these elevators have is the overhead Linea indicators which—despite being prominent on 5500’s—I’ve never seen on 3300’s before! Of course, though, we step inside and are greeted with a full lockout which is never nice. I contemplated staying inside the lift in the hope that I get summoned up by auto-recall or someone calling the lift, but quickly decided against it in case I get questioned should I be called up lol… I initially thought these would be Schindler 3000—the newest Schindler model—but I don’t think they’ve actually made it to NZ just yet…
